The Standard Sales Techniques Of Gaming Conferences Are Growing Increasingly Weird

It seems that ironically the more the sales people at Xbox One conference talked about connectivity and oneness, the less sense everyone on stage seemed to make. The Xbox conference stage, much like many other gaming conferences start off looking like some sort of weird cult meeting from the future with all its respective followers standing around a mysterious black box made up of promises and numbers, all smiling and speaking in tongues. Or maybe that was just the business jargon designed to make me leave from the conference thinking that more had been said than had actually been said. Either way most of it never made sense.

But what's stranger is that even if alot of what is said and shown at these conferences didn't make sense, it's strange to find how normal and fundamental they are to a flashy and successful show. So lets go ahead, jump down the rabbit hole and then criticise whatever we find.

What About Cynics Podcast #6 - Nintendo's Taking Their Money Back and The Strange Gesture By EA

A heavy dose of gaming here with us chatting about the new Shield handheld from Nvidia, an idea that makes less sense than the Steambox or Piston ever did to us. We also go into the driving force of all that is good and holy; sweet and delicious monies, and how this has led Nintendo to do some real crazy shit, and EA some strangely uncharacteristic nice things.

But in the end just try to have fun and if all else fails remember that although that picture inside the speech bubble is a low resolution picture, it is being displayed at 1080p, making it the highest resolution low resolution picture you'll see around. And wonders like that don't come every day.

The Mis-adventures of J.J GAYbrams: A WAC 100,000 views special

Here is a comic to commemorate the great work of J.J. Abrams on his latest (and perhaps greatest) film, Star Trek: into darkness, and jointly to mark the comparatively lacking event of 100,000 site views on WAC.

When Did Insomniac Games Become All About Crazy Guns

The first official trailer for Insomniac's new game Fuse was recently released and gave us a show that we've come to expect from an Insomniac game. Lots of cool gun types, explosions and vague sci-fi set up. I should feel guilty for that last jab because of how good the Ratchet and Clank universe worked, but I'm still confused about how the hell Resistance's universe hangs together as well as what even happened in those games, that I think I've earned a cheap shot.
